The film begins on Ramudu a naughty boy, used to do frequent mischiefs and dots upon his sibling Lakshmi. Once, when his destitute mother Subbamma (Hemalatha) is ailing as a compulsory, he steals the medicines and lands at a reformatory. After the death of Subbamma, solitary Lakshmi is joined in an orphanage and the rest forms the crux of the story.
